Creating a Successful Youtube Channel
YouTube is an incredibly large and popular video platform. In the modern era of online services, YouTube is one of the best ways to present yourself to the world. Whether it’s for fun, or to promote your business, YouTube is an invaluable tool.
Benefits of having a YouTube account
Having a YouTube account offers a vast amount of benefits. These include:
- Large user base: YouTube is the largest video platform on the internet with billions of views every day. This makes it an invaluable asset for spreading awareness and growing a brand. Growing a large following of subscribers on YouTube can be a huge boon to your business, especially if those subscribers are sharing your videos.
- Another source of traffic: Having another large platform creates another access point to acquire users and customers. As your channel grows in size and becomes recommended to YouTube users you will see more and more users coming from your YouTube page to your main site.
- Owned by Google: YouTube is owned by Google which means that owning a YouTube channel gives you a closer connection to Google. You can use your YouTube channel as a supporting platform for your main site by embedding videos into the main site from your YouTube. This allows you to improve your SEO and rise up in Googles rankings.

Step 2. Once you have clicked the sign-in button you will be taken to the sign-in screen. From this point, if you do not have a YouTube account already you will need to create one. Click the “create account” button to go to the next step.
Step 3. Now that you are in the create an account screen you will ask to give your name and email address. You will also need to create a password for your account. Simply fill in all of the necessary details and you will have your new account.
Step 4. Once your account has been created you can comment on videos, subscribe to channels, and make playlists. But in order to actually upload our own videos, we need to create a channel for the account. Click your account icon on the top right corner of the home page to access your account options. The first option should say “my channel”. Click on it.
Step 5. When creating the channel, you will be asked to choose a name and image for the channel. You can leave these the same as your account or change them to something suitable for your channel. You can also click on the “use a business or other name” link to create a business-specific channel. It might also be a good idea to read through YouTubes terms and services.
Step 6. Finally, your channel has been created and tied to your account. Since it is a newly created channel it will be incredibly bare bones. It is now up to you to customise your channel. You will need a channel icon, banner, featured channels, the community tab, playlists, and most importantly upload videos. Good luck.
